Preface

The H3C S5800&S5820X documentation set includes 12 command references, which describe the commands and command syntax options for the S5800&S5820X Release1211.

The Fundamentals Command Reference describes commands for configuring command line interface (CLI), logging in to your switch, configuring FTP and TFTP, file system management, configuration file management, device management, software upgrade and ISSU.

Audience

This documentation is intended for:

·           Network planners

·           Field technical support and servicing engineers

·           Network administrators working with the S5800 and S5820X series

Added and modified commands

Compared to Release1110, Release1211 adds and modifies the following commands:

Command reference

Added and modified commands

CLI

Modified commands: Added regular-expression related parameters to all display commands

Logging in to the switch

Added commands:

·       display telnet client configuration

·       telnet client source

·       Modified commands: telnet ipv6—Added support for the vpn-instance keyword

FTP

Added commands:

·       display ftp client configuration

·       ftp client source

Modified commands: ftp ipv6—Added support for the vpn-instance keyword

TFTP

Added commands:

·       display tftp client configuration

·       tftp client source

Modified commands: tftp ipv6—Added support for the vpn-instance keyword

File management

Configuration file management

Modified commands:

·       display current-configuration—Added support for the exclude keyword

·       save—Added support for the force keyword

Software upgrade

Added commands: boot-loader update file

ISSU

ISSU related commands are newly added to this release

Device management

Added commands: fan prefer-direction

Modified commands: display device manuinfo—Added support for the fan and power keywords

Command conventions

Convention

Description

Boldface

Bold text represents commands and keywords that you enter literally as shown.

Italic

Italic text represents arguments that you replace with actual values.

[ ]

Square brackets enclose syntax choices (keywords or arguments) that are optional.

{ x | y | ... }

Braces enclose a set of required syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which you select one.

[ x | y | ... ]

Square brackets enclose a set of optional syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which you select one or none.

{ x | y | ... } *

Asterisk marked braces enclose a set of required syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which you select at least one.

[ x | y | ... ] *

Asterisk marked square brackets enclose optional syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which you select one choice, multiple choices, or none.

&<1-n>

The argument or keyword and argument combination before the ampersand (&) sign can be entered 1 to n times.

#

A line that starts with a pound (#) sign is comments.

Window names, button names, field names, and menu items are in Boldface. For example, the New User window appears; click OK.

Multi-level menus are separated by angle brackets. For example, File > Create > Folder.
